Northern Beaches Cycling Club hosts racing at Australia’s best bespoke criterium circuit, Splendid Park, Yanchep. The Freeway and PSP have been extended to Romeo Rd, making it even quicker to get to. We’ve added some optional extra events for the juniors at no extra cost. That’s 3 races for the price of one (1 lap ITT, a points race, and a criterium race). If the trial goes well, we can offer it up to adults in our next event. Please help us by purchasing your own MyLaps transponder in enough time for it to be posted and registered before race day. (Forward your details to us pre-race day please).

OUT OF FORM or BAD LUCK WARRANTY Worried you’re a bit out of form for your grade? If you get dropped in the first half of your race for any reason (including mechanical or misadventure), approach the event organiser (Chris Howard) for a 50% discount at a subsequent NBCC event.

Volunteer/family discounts apply. if you or your support crew can volunteer 2-3 hours (indicate time) either helping to marshal a road crossing, registration desk support or Commissaire support. If you have 2 or more children, we also have family discounts. Email Chris Howard at northernbeachescycling@gmail.com, phone or text on 0421083688,

Junior Restrictions

NBCC supports the development of junior athletes and provides racing opportunities for all ages and abilities, subject to the AusCycling and NBCC published policies for Junior riders, including equipment restrictions:

AusCycling Policy – click here

*Juniors A & B are provided with a feature criterium race. In addition NBCC is adding an optional points event to add some fun and experience. This is novel and experimental. Help us by, prior to race day, ensuring your child’s bike is restricted for their age category and they have an approved and undamaged helmet. (With notice, NBCC can provide new helmets of medium size and road bikes from XS to Large). Bike lockouts and helmet checks may not be completed until after the initial novelty events have been completed but your child will be disqualified from points and podium if tech regulations have not been followed. NBCC also reserves the right to disqualify riders from future events if it is apparent a rider’s gears have been unrestricted during any event.

License Requirements

An AusCycling “Race – All Discipline” license is required for riders to be eligible to participate in our races. All the information regarding this license can be found here: www.auscycling.org.au/membership/race-all-discipline Alternatively, for those looking to try racing an AusCycling “All Discipline – 4 Week Trial” is available. However, there are strict conditions around this licensing. Riders can find more information by following this link: www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial

Other

At race director or commissaire discretion times may be modified. Dropped riders that may interfere with race finish may be withdrawn from the circuit. As there will be 2 grades on course at one time, give way to the lower grade finishing their last lap with a sprint. You will still have 10 mins to go with the higher grade.

The organiser, in its sole discretion, may delay, modify, or cancel the event if it believes the conditions on the event day are or will be unsafe following the commencement of the event. If the event is delayed, modified or cancelled for any reason registrants may be entitled to a pro-rata refund of any participant entry fee in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. There will be no payment for any other costs incurred by participants in connection with the event. Further details can be obtained from AusCycling’s Refund Policy.
