Splendid Park Criterium Circuit
Western Australia’s first, UCI standard, criterium circuit is now open!
Northern Beaches Cycling Club is proud to be the driving force behind the construction and utilisation of this great new facility for W.A.
The course is a 1.4km asphalt circuit which is 6m wide with an 8m wide finishing straight for 200m.
The track also has a permanent pit area, registration shelter, and bike racks alongside dedicated areas for club and team marquees on race days. Existing facilities at Splendid Park include ample parking, kids playground, skate park, bar, change rooms and toilets.
Splendid Park is accessed via Marmion Avenue. From 2023, the Yanchep train station is due for completion, and is situated less than a kilometre away.
Northern Beaches Cycling Club has ambitious plans for the facility, from kids learn-to-ride sessions, inter-school competitions, fitness sessions, right through to state-level criterium events.
Our youth squad has training sessions Monday & Thursdays from 4.30pm. We will collaborate with other clubs to provide a full criterium season over summer and autumn.
Splendid Park will also host our ambitions to provide an Olympic-themed youth squad, supporting both cycling participation and a pathway to elite development.
The Splendid Park Criterium Track is only possible thanks to the City of Wanneroo. The cycle-friendly local government has made the biggest commitment to the sport of cycling in WA since the construction of the Midvale SpeedDome in 1989. Other funding sources include the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Funds and Member for Butler, John Quigley.
